Friday Mashup Challenge......FM#42 It's all about colour

So here is the "Mashup" Challenge :

Make a project using "Paper Piercing".
Or Make a project using the colors "Blushing Bride, Riding Hood Red & Early Espresso".
Or "Mash it Up" and create a project with the "Color Combo & Paper Piercing

Now in this challenge I did only the colour part ...I am plying with the piercing paper part

but honestly was not good enough yet to post a card with it on ...need to found some templates...hehehehe
Now along with Friday Mashup I combined the Sisters in Christ challenge....

Challenge #2-Wet or Dry Embossing

This week we have a technique challenge for you, so please use Dry or Wet Embossing on your project.

Ok here is my try ...I did the dry embossing on the ornaments ...

put the embossing ink on the embossing folder then paper inside ...

then pulling out put on the silver sparkle embossing powder..

My SIL Barb knew before me ...she was so excited for me ....thanks for the call ...her and I have been doing this challenge together

Well good evening to all ....I wanted to share ...on the weekend we watched this Christmas show called Cancelling Christmas....first time I have ever seen this one. This show was different in the message it was trying to share ...ususally it has Santa listening to want kids want....but in this show ...Santa was asking them what they could give... now most of them said I don't have any money ...and this Santa said ....it does not take money to give ....it comes from the heart. One little girl he said ....you could give to your mom help with dishes ....just helping her ... he was trying to show them giving comes from the heart ...not from the almighty dollar. If we can give from the heart ...forgiveness....love ...understanding...all the money in the world will really not make you happy. You don't give because you have to ...because that is who and where your heart is ...sometimes in trying to give the very best of your self you screw up ...but you hope that those that say they love you and I do mean love you from the heart ....will understand ...and still will give from the heart. I know every year I am asked what I want for Christmas ...and every year I really can't answer in things or material things..what I want the most is health for all ...for the love of family and friends. To be just accepted . Things that can not be bought...they are given from the heart.

Mojo Monday

Well I made it ...it is Monday and here I am putting up my Mojo card...I was lucky enough to be able to chat to Barb and work on my card with her ...thanks SIL

so here it is ....

the background paper is Little Yellow Bicycle's Wonder & Wishes.

The other papers used are scraps...and the holly are Recollection .

sorry it took a bit to get it up online ...but when I went to put up my card I realized I had not put on three brads ...so back to the drawing board....and here I am again....

So here is the "Mashup" Challenge :

Happy Birthday Samantha

Yes today is Sam's b-day...and I wanted to do a card for her from Ethan so I went through some of the pictures I have of him and made a card up for her for him to give to her....from a baby to today...he has so many cute faces...below is what I put inside the card...

his hand prints...to mom holding when he was small..

they will be taking me to the hospital this morning ...at that time

I will let Ethan have some time to add some of his touches to it ....

bought store bread or buns for a whole month ...it smells so awesome fresh bread and buns baking...

Day 222 - Stamping Saturday

Sometimes the background of some solid colored cardstock just needs a little something added to it. It's a great opportunity to pull out those stamps and select a slightly darker shade of the cardstock color to give it a patterned background.

Day 219 - Punchy Embellishment

I really like to see what you do with these DIY types of challenges. And this one is about creating your own "punchy" embellishment. Mix and match at least 3 different paper punches to create one lovely embellishment.

ok here we go my 3 different punches are ...1" circle =the body

a flower punch for the eyes.....and the legs are made from a corner punch of Martha Stewart...

you can see the punch on the corner of the card ...I cut them out in black and has legs...

Yes my Bare is trying his hand at all things... we have had a bread maker for a long time ...but my SIL Neti showed me how to make bread and buns the old fashion way ...now I can be honest ...I bunch the dough sometimes to much ...so I just stick to the pizza dough ...but he thought he would give it a try...

His buns and bread were awesome ...thank you Bare....the house smelt so good.

While the kids were here Bare and I did a ride on the bike...

Now many of you don't know the twins Bare and Bill did a small bike ride together

both boys wanted to go up the old canyon road ..then over to Pemberton....

the tunnel at Yale is behind them...

Now Bill was taking pictures and he took one of Bare's bike ...

but Bill did you see your reflection in the Boulevard...cool looking

On Sunday we meet Patty and Glen and the girls for lunch at East Side Mario's

above is Hannah and Jordana

Here Matty and Abi ...yes Abi is our movie star ...the kids had lots of fun ..

Now the next day the guys went fishing....Bare...Shawn and Glen...

and as you can see Bare caught a nice one ...in fact his only one for the whole day...the other boys caught about 4 each and let lots go...but it was a fun day ...oh ya Uncle Dave ...Shawn just could not kiss the fish....

this fish was a nice size ...even with the head and gills gone this fish was still 20 inches long and fat ..

Bare kept it like that so he could cut the fish in to steaks ....

us girls got things ready for a barb-q after guys got home ...Mindi showed me a neat trick

never knew this ....egg slicer and celery...and how to make it look neat...

like it was flowering ...put the celery into ice cold water for a bit and this is what happens...

and Jordana put it all together ...awesome job girl...

there were burgers and smokies and hot dogs...

It was an awesome time ...now you know why us girls were late with our Mojo Cards....

Yes our son and daughter-in-law are visiting ...we were thinking they would arrive Friday am ...but they surprised me by getting here on Thursday ...is was awesome it has been awhile they live up in northern Alberta....

Well here it's Wednesday ...middle of the week and I am now adding my Mojo Monday card...well I beat last weeks dated....

Now the paper is from K&Company--Hojas Simple...the butterfly Recollection same has the little flower ...the ribbon and bow ...Jolee...hope you like....so I tried another card layout today.

Thought it might look ok ...what do you think???

I left the botttom of the card empty so some one could write their own messages or sign their names ..or even add their own Happy Birthday...or what ever....

Now I was luck enough on Monday to get the girls for a sleepover ...and Hannah who had a Diego train set ...want so to give it to Ethan...so over to Aunties we go..

Well here it is Mojo Monday...on Thursday...

really not the best...not that happy ..but I tried....and long side of me Abi created one tooo....

below are pictures of baby birds from the backyard of Sam's

they are so sweet

Sam...has been putting food on the lawn for them ...they don't even fly away now when she is doing it you will also notice in the first pictures of the birds ..you can see a metal piping wrapped around the pole ...they have this orange cat that belongs somewhere else that comes and has climbed the pole and did get one of the baby birds ...there was three....so Sam made it hard to climb. We all can't wait for the teaching of flying.

now Hannah .....Ethan loved watching them ...he really did not want to take part in the fun ...

he was happy just sitting on the side lines....

or just swing with the girls ....

this picture above was taken at the open house at HVC every year Aug long weekend they have this and yes they even take you on a tour of the copper mine...it is quite neat....

Happy Anniversary Bare

Yes today is our anniversary ....
many of you know he just got a new motorcycle
and yes he loves to ride...
so I thought this license plate cover would be neat for the bike....

Then chatting with my SIL Barb she give me this wonderful idea ...I wanted to get flowers for my man ....

but she had this idea for me to make a bouquet of candy and and my rose I wanted to add...so here is the end product...

and I have to say she helped me with the little saying ....thanks so much Barb...

she has been busy creating with her new machine
and boy the cards and freebies she has done are awesome check out her blog ...
her name is on the side panel...

Yes catch up time ...this weeks Mojo 201 ...hope you like....

now on this first layer ...I used one of TLC stamp...Lady Special Kind of a Lady and then one of the new stamps I got from Stampin Up the flowers are digital then I cut them out

open the box again ....

and a gift of tea for that special lady on her birthday ...so what do you think ..yes I know they have a box card called exploding box ...but all the layers laid on one another...this card looks like a flower when it all opens ...hope you like. Any ideas or comments loved.

The start of our trip to Sparwood ...a place we love to visit ....David and Neti here we come....

We left Wednesday ...yes rain and lots of rainbows ...love it...

this rainbow was just outside of Invermere....we were driving so the picture isn't the clearest....

Now my SIL Neti ...loves to sew ...to sell jewelry and she is the best at it ...so off to Baynes Lake where they have a farmers market every Saturday ...and Neti helped me set a table with some of my cards ...and yes I did sell a couple ...with her encouragement ....thanks Neti ..it was fun

Now while the girls did the craft thing the boys did a bike ride ...we had taken Barry's bike down on the trailer because of the rain...but the boys knew once that sun shone they were gone ...David took Bare on about a 6 hour ride ...and let me tell you Bare loved it.... thanks so much David ...it meant a lot.

one of the evening ...we headed to the river for some river fishing ...Neti is way up front there .then the boys well we all know who has the horse shoe ...yes the Bare

that fish did not want it's picture taken ...but Bare finally got it under control...

these pretty little flowers were in bloom ...Neti said that the natives take them and spray them with color and sell them they are so neat...

Couple of the nights Neti and I headed over to Pincher Creek ...they have a Walmart there that carries groceries and the price are great .....Neti picked up some pineapples ...boy were they good...these pictures were of skies has we drove home ...

yes we are off to pike fish ....the sun is shining and no wind...

David's new look

Bare and Neti were the only two who got to keep pike ...lots were caught but they have to be over 63cm ...so ...well ...3 were kept..

now on this lake there were pelicans ...oh I think those birds are so neat ...but you can never get to close to them ...but today was different ....a fish had been caught ...and released ...but before this fish could get a way the pelicans moved in ...it was so neat to watch ....I believe David got a video of it ...hope Neti posts it.Now if you look at the next picture

yes this one ....notice the bird right up front there look how big his neck is compare to the other birds ...guess who got the fish....it was something to watch

this in on the way home ...we got back last night ....and the sun was shining for the drive ...and yes Bare unloaded the bike and drove home on it ....next time we are going to try just the bike for the ride....

I used the inks pads ..using blue and green....then stamped with thinking of you all over lightly then one dark one in the middle....the papers used came fromDCWV---Baby Boy Stack...the stamp is a new one I got from Stampin Up in the middle of the front oval. Hope you all like the look ...have a great Saturday nite.

I know you two will have a very special day planned ..wish you the best this day and always....

Now has many of you know I went for a visit to Barb's ..on the way I stop to stretch those legs of my...and a few fellows were flying airplanes on the water....miss those days ..my Bare was really a great RC Flyer

Well time with Barb always goes so fast ...we try to get many things in to a visit besides talking up a storm ....she pick a beautiful bouguet of flowers for me and Sam ...we love the flowers Barb ...thanks so much ...they did well on the drive home....

and as you know from the blog before this one ...we got to do Mojo Monday together plus another SIL Nina it was great fun other than me not up to par ...but here is another card I made with Barb`s supplies...

this poppy was sitting in the middle of the table at the house...looks like a small girl with frills around the neck and a red dress...

well of course when you are visiting you have to do lunch we went to a little cafe where Barb and Miles know the couple ...they used to do chinese food and it was to die for ..but now this sushi place is so busy and they have great food ....no we did not have raw fish ...but we had great food...the three roll

on the plate the one with lots of red ...is actually yams rolled up and boy they were great .

Well I am home and trying to be creative ...so here are a few attempts...

Yes your right Mojo Monday from last monday ...but...but I did get one up before Sunday ...hope you like it .

These are a few cards I had been working on ...you see I was to be in Sparwood with my SIL Neti ..you know the one that was puts up great recipes...hope you all made the wonton soup ...so good. Any ways I was going down to the Fernie Craft Sale ...well I screwed up and lost my voice ...and did not make it ...I have asked her forgiveness and she says she still loves me ...next time I am to ... just drive ...and be there...I promise I will sick or not....this was to be my time to go from Neti house over to my other SIL Barb ...I am still heading to Barb's to visit and of course probably play with computers and maybe even craft a bit.
