Friends --- Family ---- people are always saying family just can't be friends it doesn't it work. That your friends have to be someone not connected to you through family . But I beg to differ...this lady has been my sister in law(Barb) ..for over 23 years ....but she has been my friend through all those years ...she has been honest ...loving ...and understanding ....all the things you like for in a friend....and yes we do say what is on our hearts and on our mind ...we don't play a game... for both of us know life is real. So the next time you think a family member can't be your friend....remember it is you that stops and makes those decisions and you stop what could be an awesome sister in law or brother in law from becoming what they are in your life a friend. Well it has been a week since we arrived at Edith Lake ...there have been fish caught from 2 pounds to 7 pounds ..so we will stay one more week ...we have company arriving tonight and tomorrow is it should be a fun filled weekend ..and a lot of who caught the biggest fish ...guys!!!

Well the first day of school ....and Melissa first day in Grade 7 ....wow ..so hard to believe are little kindergarten girl to grade 7 ...so is quite a lady and we love her dearly

...way to go girl.

I want to added today's blog that if some of you were not comfortable about yesterday's blog I am sorry ..I did get a couple of emails just to say hi and to say they are there for me through thick and thin...thanks. My mom and I talked about what I had written ..and she said no one should feel ugh about what I had to say. It is trying to sort things through ..time is not forever and I want to have a good time and a relaxed time ..not always having to watch my back about things going on in my life or my families or my kids. I like what my SIL Barb always says enjoy those that want to be around and love those that are close ...and Barb I love you dearly..thanks . So glad she is part of my family her and Miles are always encouraging .....thanks sis.

I am so happy for her and Miles if you have not been over to her blog ...well let me show you her birthday present ...it is awesome ..and her husband did awesome ..a wow ..he loves his lady very much. The Lord has blessed them over and over again ...they are so faithful to the Lord.

Sunday at Edith lake

Well this weekend has been a fast one …from Barriere going to Salmon Arm and then setting up for the school run . We are now at Edith lake for a bit …we will see how the wind goes. This lake is a short drive to Melissa school and seeing school starts tomorrow we felt we should get close for the first week and see how things go. We still have two more meetings of family to do so ..we will be off and heading down the road . It has been a fun summer . We meet some wonderful people made new friends and visited with old ones . We saw family and had family came visit us . Thanks to all and thanks for the memories. Two very new and wonderful people we meet were Nigel and Wendy …Nigel is from Australia and Wendy from Barriere ….yes Wendy is DJ sister a very awesome lady ..who travels a lot and so does Nigel . Boy some of the places he has been ..both him and Wendy have been around the world. I know Mom Ivy misses her daughter ..but she loves that her daughter's life is full. We had the privilege of camping with them for about a week and a half ….they have built their retirement home in Australia a home that overlooks the ocean and where you can watch the dolphins play from the sundeck ….wow Australia. But for now their home is Texas ..when they are home …Wendy leaves for Italy this next week and then Greece ..she does a lot of traveling ..I asked her to spend me pictures …these are places I will never make it to …so Wendy please send lots. And thanks again for the time shared. And Nigel send some of those awesome recipes you have .

Well this months have been an eye opener to a few things …have you ever wanted some one or persons to just be a part of your family or even just to be a friend …but for the right reasons …not to be there just to get goods on you to spread to others …gossip ..and even maybe turn it a bit so it keeps walls or doubts there ..so you can never figure out if they want to be a friend or foe …this has been my thing this year …see time does not go on forever... there is not a tomorrow that all can be fix. I have always wanted to be a part of a family and I am with my family ..my kids …but there has always been this place where you are not allow to cross you are made to wonder…in these last days I don’t want phoney I want real ….so when asked what are you ..friend or foe....how would you answer...honestly?????

I hope you all understand what I am trying to say ...I love you all and would love for all us to have memories together and be family ...but most of all FRIENDS to make a FAMILY.

Mayonnaise Jar and 2 Cups Of Coffee

When things in your life seem almost too much to handle,

when 24 Hours in a day is not enough,

remember the mayonnaise jar and 2 cups of coffee.

A professor stood before his philosophy class

and had some items in front of him.

When the class began, wordlessly, he picked up a very large

and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls.

He then asked the students if the jar was full.They agreed that it was.

The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar.

He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles rolled into the open areas between the golf balls. He then asked the students again if the jar was full..They agreed it was.

The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar.

Of course, the sand filled up everything else.He asked once more if the jar was full. The students responded with a unanimous 'yes.'

The professor then produced two cups of coffee from under the table and poured the entire contents into the jar, effectively filling the empty space between the sand. The students laughed.

‘Now,' said the professor, as the laughter subsided,'I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life.

The golf balls are the important things - God, family, children, health, friends, and Favorite passions--things that if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full.

The pebbles are the other things that matter like your job, house, and car. The sand is everything else -- the small stuff.

‘If you put the sand into the jar first,' he continued,

'there is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls. The same goes for life.

If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff, you will never have room for the things that are important to you.

So... Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness.

Play With your children.

Take time to get medical checkups.

Take your partner out to dinner.

Play another 18.

There will always be time to clean the house and fix the disposal.

'Take care of the golf balls first -- the things that Really matter.Set your priorities.

The rest is just sand.

'One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the coffee represented.

The professor smiled. 'I'm glad you asked'. It just goes to show you that no matter how full your life may seem, there's always room for a couple of cups of coffee with a friend.

'Please share this with someone you care about.

New Haircut

Well this week is the last week the kids have to play ....but our girl has started the road to getting ready for school ..she is entering Grade 7 ...and it is a biggy. Monday new colors for her braces and today the haircut ..the new look for the start of school ..and our little girl looks so good. Next is clothes shopping .

This weekend is filled right up ...from fishing and having fun and seeing family.

Can't wait to see them.

Well the weekend has ended ..and all have headed home ...thanks to all that came out ..it was fun. I got the afternoon to myself ..as even Papa had to go back to work ...so it was quiet here. DJ and Drew and Keisha had a junior golf tournament to go to. This golf course up here is a great place to have fun in. And they don't mind the kids ....in fact Wednesday night are their nights. Well has you can see by my layout Keisha won a medal for longest drive and longest putt...and her neat little slippers which are to look like golf shoes ..were a prize she picked. Her and Drew had lots of fun ...sorry I missed getting Drew's picture ..he was busy talking to his Uncle.

The day at the Dentist with Abi & Hannah

The first sweetheart in the slide show is Hannah(pink shirt) ..last time here she wanted nothing to do with the whole teeth thing ...but this time ..what a change ..she sat for her teeth being cleaned ..a floride treatment and Dr. Wilson to check her teeth ...he told Patty what an awesome job. The doctor ...said keep up the good work. Then Abi(green and white shirt) was next and well this girl is always full of questions ..so between question she had her teeth cleaned and floride and checked ... they were so good . Love you Abi and Hannah

River Run 2008

Well we made it ...what an awesome time ...I know I have put alot of pictures into the slide show but is was hard trying to decide. So I hope you will be patient and go through the whole show. You will notice the burnt trees and the eerie feeling of the land ..this river flows through the town of Barriere where a few years ago they had that awful fire ..so the land is just starting to come back. We spend the night on a little sandbar ..you see the little yellow flowers ...they looked so neat and were the only flowering thing on our little island. We had our fire for smokies and hot chocolate....and some awesome time fishing ...where we did actually catch fish ...Bare was trying to catch our supper ...the fish were small and also what they call white fish. (Good thing I brought smokies...hehehe). I must say at this point we realized we had an Eagle around ...the next day when we left our neat little island we notice he was with us. He followed for awhile then ..we had two more ..it was neat to watch and also to see them always just there. If you ever get a chance it is a beautiful trip. Well has you can see by my pictures the river has its moments and the wildlife...awesome. I have to say though the one picture I kick myself for not getting was the black bear swimming in the river ...I saw something fall off the bank and then start to swim...it was as we got closer and saw it was a black bear ...wow . I must say to see the Bald Eagles to Blue Heron to Black Bear ...and these animals were not in the zoo ...in their own place and land...awesome.

Wow it is Tuesday ..summer is moving along so fast ...Bare has had 38 days off and they have been filled with lots of traveling, fishing and visiting with family and friends. This is our last week off so we are doing the North Thompson River ..the river has some good rapids at this time of the year ...we will do a night on the river on one of the great sandy islands that has been formed from the lower river and do some fishing ...I am praying the weather holds for us ...also I hope to get some neat pictures. Barry's next break will be at the end of September.

These holidays have been a really eye opener to many things ...and has open so many things and shown so many things. You learn alot and grow alot ..when colors are shown.

I want to thank my SIL Barb for all the help in learn and giving me the words and love needed to step forward in all things...in doing the layouts and for all the ladies I have been able to chat to for any ideas. I love this scrapbooking ..and the kits that you can get are awesome out of this world ...Olivia(aka Mrs Miles )..KimB...place like DSO and Sophia Shoppe so if you are even interesting check these shops out ..they even have tutorials to. Well KimB put out a color challenge...and I thought I would like to create some of my own stuff ..well ya ...I will keep working on that . But I did do a layout using elements and paper from other ladies who do know how to create beautiful elements , paper...awesome stuff.

Well here is our weekend at the coast ...we shopped til we dropped at the MetroTown Mall ...

boy that place is big ...wow ...if ever going there give yourself a good couple of days to shop it ....the kids enjoyed the skytrain and I must say boy they sure can pack them in to one of those cars ..there are no limit to the number in one said car....scarey

Then on Saturday we headed to PLAYLAND...fun
